Step 2

Feb 1, 2026    Allyssa

Ever feel like you're at the end of yourself? That's exactly where God meets us.

This Sunday, we explored Step 2 of our year-long journey through the 12 Steps: "Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity."

Here's the beautiful truth: God does the heavy lifting. Our part? Show up. Be willing. Trust. Step 1 brings us to our limits—Step 2 introduces us to a God who's been there all along, working behind the scenes, placing the right people in our path at the right time.

This powerful exploration of Step Two in the 12-step journey invites us to discover how grace meets us at the end of ourselves. We're reminded that the steps aren't just about overcoming addiction—they're a pathway to building a genuine relationship with our Higher Power. Through the lens of three types of grace—prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying—we see how God has been working in our lives long before we even recognized it, placing the right people and circumstances in our path.

This isn't about following rules or achieving perfection—it's about relationship, trust, and allowing ourselves to be loved exactly as we are while becoming who we were created to be.
